A very fun experience in Southmoore Golf Course

I've known a lot about Southmoore Golf from other golfers so I finally got by to play on a chilly Saturday morning in November that warmed up nicely. The greens were the most known within the course. Very consistent and well maintained. Sand traps were the next. Well raked and clean. Two of the toughest requirements well and I'll give kudos on those straight away. We got a very nice fairways and tee boxes were good, just didn't stand out.

They've various tee boxes, but the Blue's are just shy of 6,100 yards. It seemed a good level of short players were within the course, and various than 2 women, I never saw anyone use the two main tee boxes available in front of the whites (egos getting inside way) whenever they must have acknowledged their game and moved up. Customized for specific cultures was okay. It's within the hilly portion of the area and utilized it pretty well.

Unforgettable aesthetics environment

One par 3 incorporates a beautiful 30-foot waterfall you do not see before reaching the green, but a neighborhood said this will extricate sometimes. Why I would not make it a point noted for their website I don't know, but it really was sweet. I will admit to being just a little disappointed for the reason that the holes weaved around a lot, and quite a few just appeared to parallel oneself and didn't add much on the course challenge or aesthetics. They were also close so there is a fair level of crossing into other holes to relax and play an endeavor, even during this lightly used day in November.

I'd heard such reviews from the 3 golfers leading up to this round, and nothing that the summer cost is $65 on every weekends (Saturday and Sunday), forced me to be to perform be either super challenging or a fantastic visual experience, and also neither. It wasn't either to get honest. Now don't get me wrong, Southmoore Golf Course is a very great course, well maintained, as well as the location, the associated fee is just too much. If you nicely served average course and mind the reasonably limited price you will be perfectly satisfied.

A bit hesitant on any review, but the result is so satisfying

I was rather a bit hesitant in line with quite a lot of reviews regarding to slow play etc. As a fairness, I didn't experience any issue. I arrived slightly early for my tee time. The starter saw that I was playing alone and sent me the heli-copter flight back nine. I played the nine quickly and thought the course layout was nice was well maintained.

I was rather nervous about what would happen for the turn coming to the first tee but the foursome within the tee invited me to relax and play through. Again, little support and normally the one slow group a couple holes ahead also ok, beingI'll play through. Overall, I took part in 2 1/2 hours and really the course is fun. I will say that lots of the holes are redundant being the back nine and front nine holes run parallel oneself and there are thousands of reflexion holes side by side. But overall I enjoyed my round at Southmoore Golf Course.

It appears to be me the fact that the course is much many I have seen that is built about 20 yrs ago ... had plenty of promise as well as seeking to be a private club but just fell short. But try it out if you find yourself surprised!

Another Review

My best mate John and I drove down from Binghamton, N.Y. on the last March to relax and play the course on it's opening day. I was fairly impressed, though it was at the outset of the summer season there exists nothing that had greened up yet. You'll be able to tell that this training manual is well maintained. The fairways were dense as well as greens were smooth.

The course has as well as being directly on a shale bed, so drainage just isn't a problem. Most other courses in the neighborhood were saturated, with standing water everywhere. We were treated to little of the particular here. The course appears competently designed as well. The holes flow nicely, apart from a handful of the par 3's.

The course is designed in a good structure

The grass landed in Southmoore Golf Course seemed just a little jammed in and quite short, by our standards. Some of the holes have parallel fairways, so to perform see errant drives from other holes as well as golfers that accompany them. There is a lot of elevation change several beautiful panoramic views. Usually, the one ding often is the rock infested bunkers that often plague courses during this region.

Somewhere over the line, sifting technology need's been lost in this field, like seatbelt technology aboard the USS Enterprise. Carts are electric and gas and fairly well maintained. Almost no was available inside a clubhouse, so we simply cannot squeeze in a fair rating on most of the amenities. The pro-shop had some nice items, and I received a logoed shirt at a crazy low price. Speaking of price, the course is not necessarily a bad deal, particularly on the golf card.
